Hello Ron,
George F. Cake Co. was one the largest suppliers of police equipment in the nation back in the 1950;s thru the 1970's. They were the "Galls" of that era, and I own numerous pieces of equipment with their stamp. I know they used several different manufacturers to make their products, as I have several clamshell holsters marked George F. Cake Co., but they are in fact made by Safety Speed Holster Co.. They did not make thier own thumbcuffs, but did market their own "store " brand of both thumb and handcuffs. The pairs I have bear an almost identical outside and inward appearance of the JAY-PEE cuffs from that time. My guess is that the thumbcuffs are also probably Jay-Pee made with the Cake store marks. The catalouge I have from 1964 shows the same thumbcuffs you have, and they are labled as "imported" thumbcuff restraints for detectives. My guess is they are Spanish made, and imported by the Cake Co. through Jay-Pee.
