Hi Klaus,
I got the cuffs from Stefan - that means they have the same size 5.1cm x 3.8cm
Pulling the key is not possible, because the springs are very strong!
I can pull a little bit, but not enough to open the lock.
When the screw pitch was slightly different, the key would slowly get stuck. But it stops suddenly.
A shorter key also wouldn't help because it would be too short to reach the bolt.
What I wonder is (maybe someone knows how the darbies look inside):
-Is the bolt usually threaded over its full length?
-Concerning darbies, does the key usually use the inner part of the case as a support (during pulling the bolt out), like on my picture / or does it use the outer end of the case as support (like Klaus described in his posting)?
-Does anybody have a key which is not threaded from its beginning?
Uhm.... really weird questions... But I don't like to take a hacksaw and open the cuffs to take a look inside *G*
Regards
Andy
