Recently I bought a vintage nipper that looked like a typical Heid & Roth model at first sight. But if you take a closer look, you can see that it's different from the "common" ones. I've had about one dozen Heid & Roth nippers in my hands before and all were of the same shape. Not this one. As you can see on the picture (normal nipper at top / different at bottom) the proportions are different. And the edges of this Heid & Roth are better rounded. All in all, I would say that these unusual version is of better quality than the "common" Heid & Roth.
What do you think, is it an early version or could it be an imitation? Does anybody else here have such a piece?

PS: the Heid&Roth Nipper on top of the picture (for comparison) is for sale at eBay at the moment. It's a nice piece in excellent condition. And it was in official police use in Stuttgart (marked "142 F" with the shade of a too slightly stamped horse in front of this number). If you're interested, just click on the link below.
