the trade mark you describe sounds like the b.s.a. trade mark for birmingham small arms, ie three rifles "piled" together, nown amongst british motorcycle enthusiasts, and gun collectors as "the piled arms trade mark". its possible that the cuffs were made by BSA for the military, is there a broad arrow marking?, this is the mark of all things military from great britain, hope this helps a bit.
