I'm lucky to own a pair of original Stotz leg irons (picture A), so I want to gather some information about them. I've asked other collectors if they have Stotz Leg Irons, too and two of them sent me pictures of such restraints.
At first look the leg irons on picture B seem to be quite identical to my ones, but there is a big difference – more then a mere rubber cover, which seems to be wrapped around the bows to protect the skin of the ankles. When looking at picture C you can see that under this hard rubber tubing is a chain very similar to that used on bicycles or motor cycles. So the leg irons B and C are somewhat reminiscent of Horst Stein model 608 handcuffs.
Does anyone has further information about any of these Stotz leg iron models?
