I'm the idiot that overpaid for the Japanese handcuffs on eBay. I got caught up in the bidding and probobally paid much more than they are worth, and definitely more than I had planned on paying, BUT I've been looking for a pair for a long time. These cuffs have come to be known as the "Luna" or "crescent" cuff due to their shape. There has been much discussion as to where they came from. I checked out the info that the seller had with the cuff and everything checked out. These were taken from Sugamo prison near Tokyo by a US soldier who was one of the first to arrive in Japan after the bombing of Hiroshima. The prison was built in the 1920's, and I suspect the handcuffs are more likely 1920's than 1940's. The one I got is somewhat smaller and thinner, and has heavier connecting links than the others I've seen.
