Certainly no one in this day and age can think that handcuffs are cruel or unfair. In some cases the police can crank them to tight on people who have not really done anything, but in the whole context of the violence in this world, what better item do the police have? Even when some one is in cuffs police must be aware or a person might escape or cause some other problem. In many cases it slows violent people down and stops them from hurting themselves or others
If if were not for the law police might have even better itms to work with. The great Reno had a nice come -along that had one cuff and a gun like handle. When squeezed the cuff became tighter. Don't get me wrong, I do not hold with police who torure people but in the cases of violent wackos the COPS need all the assitance they can get and sometimes that calls for extra pressure. I have some invetions for police cuffs but the laws would not allow them. Norm Bigelow PS great site
