The problem (At least that I ran into) is that the india darbys usually are the "before spring" style darbys In other words they DO NOT have a spring. To open you need screw the key then if you where to unscrew the key and try to close them you could not do it as there is no spring to move the bolt instead you would have to put the cuff on then unscrew the key to lock them in place.
