Atame, I forgot to add that I recommend to you to get a copy of Mr Santini's book titled
"Devices of Human Restraint" which apart from seeing some impressive antique handcuffs and other restraints has a section on the manufacturing methods of handcuffs which is a good start to knowing more about these items.
