Hi Steve!
Thank you for information and the tip concerning eBay.
The pair on the picture shows on an ebay auction. But too expensive for me :-(
I will add the link in case someone is interested.
Unfortunately I haven't been successful yet.
Does anybody know if HIATTS also has produced small Darbies?
Or can anybody provide me a source where to buy a pair of small Darbies?
I am located in Germany.
Kind regards!
Andy
P.S. Steve, I am interested in your book. Is there another way of payment instead of money order? (I am thinking of PayPal or VISA)
: Hello Andy,
: The pair of handcuffs pictured were made by the British firm of RCS. RCS made heavy darbies like these for civilian police but mainly military police useage. By far the most common origin for what may be termed "lady darbies" is the country of India. There, darbies have been in use since the beginning of British occupation and they often appear in very small sizes which are often called "lady darbies". Indeed, many small Indian darbies may very well have been made for use on women and possibly even children. Hope this helps, Steve Santini. P.S. "lady type" small size darbies occasionaly turn up on Ebay. : Hello,
: : I am searching for a pair of Lady-Darbies.
: : Who produced these? Are they still produced?
: : Does anybody know anything about the pair pictured?
: : Thank you all
