Hi there it is entirely possible and maybe probable that this is a prototype. I say this becuase I own a Mattatuck manufactured "Tower Kahlke" complete with lock activating bows. I had heard from the gentelmen that I got the prototype from that years ago he had visitied a relative of the old shop and saw a wall full of odd prototypes. Hope this helps
