I have two real Hamburg 8's and one of the
excellent Ian McColl models. The real ones are
heavier and they have a fluted key way. The
key way on the McColl model has a straight key
way. The plating is of course perfect on the McColl
model. Neither of my two real ones have any
markings at all.
There are different varieties of the real ones
and some evidently have a straight key way like
the McColl model.
As to value I have seen the real ones go for
$250-$300, but more seem to be showing up, so the
price may drop with the increased supply.
